BEAMIDE and MRADSIM at the Italian Consulate in New York
Last week, BEAMIDE had the honor of taking part in the event “Bridging Space Economies: Between Italy and the US,” hosted by the Consulate General of Italy in New York. The event brought together Italian and American space companies, startups, investors, and institutional representatives to discuss collaboration, innovation, and the future of the space economy.

During the session, we presented BEAMIDE’s activities and recent advancements, highlighting our work in the simulation and mitigation of radiation effects on electronic systems for space, defense, and industrial applications. We also shared how MRADSIM, our radiation simulation suite, supports engineering teams in evaluating radiation environments, electronics reliability, and shielding strategies across complex mission scenarios.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with leading organizations and innovators shaping today’s space ecosystem, including SpaceX, Axiom Space, Dallara, Officina Stellare S.p.A., Spacewear, and several emerging startups active across the space value chain. These discussions reinforced the importance of cross-border collaboration in addressing shared technical and strategic challenges.
The participation of Col. Walter Villadei further enriched the dialogue, encouraging a meaningful exchange between research, institutions, and industry, and underlining the strategic role of space technologies in both civilian and defense contexts.
